One of the best things about working in gingerhead is that you’re never far from a good conversation about brands – what’s working, what’s not, and which ones we secretly (or not-so-secretly) love.
We were recently chatting in the office about our favourite brands. Not from a client perspective, but from a personal one, those we keep going back to, the ones that have somehow found a spot in our routines or in our hearts.
Here are three of my favourites and why I think they get it right…
Consistency: Premier Inn
We all love a surprise now and then, but sometimes I just want to know exactly what I’m getting. That’s why Premier Inn stands out to me – it’s consistently reliable.
I’ve stayed in enough of these hotels when travelling for work and the experience has always been the same, a quick check in, clean room and a decent choice of breakfast to set you up for the day.
Like most hotels, they could do with a better hairdryer to save me lugging my own around but at that price you can’t have everything! With a reputation built around value, reliability and consistency, Premier Inn delivers every time.
Ethical: Liz Earle
I’m fairly new to this wellness brand (I must have officially joined the target audience on my last birthday) but I’m already a fan.
From the muted, nature-inspired colours and their informative-yet-friendly tone of voice, everything feels calm and collected. Their story (founded by women, focused on natural skincare) shines through in every piece of communication.
In an overwhelming industry full of big promises, Liz Earle’s quiet commitment to simplicity and science feels refreshing. From a branding perspective, it’s a great reminder that you don’t have to be loud to be powerful – you just need to be clear, consistent and rooted in your values. Much like a good boss!
Luxury: David Lloyd
Once upon a time luxury for me meant heels and hangovers. These days, it looks a little different and a lot more fulfilling. It’s the calm of the pool after a busy day, a solo workout without a child clinging to my back, or simply sinking into a soft seat in the clubroom, laptop open, coffee in hand (I don’t actually drink coffee but it sounds more sophisticated than a diet coke).
David Lloyd has been there through every stage of life, from the early parenting years when a kids’ class felt like a lifeline, to now, where it offers a welcome change of scene for remote working and a place to calm the mind.
That’s the beauty of this brand for me: it evolves with you. Warm, modern, and welcoming, it’s a place where wellness feels like something to look forward to and not another thing to tick off your to-do list!
Working in branding means you can’t help but see the world a little differently. Hotel chains, skincare shelves, and even the gym all turn into case studies. But chatting with the team about our favourite brands was a lovely reminder that behind every successful campaign or clever logo is a human connection.
So, whether it’s the perfect pillow at Premier Inn, a hydrating Liz Earle cleanser, or a post workout trip to the sauna at David Lloyd, the brands that stick with us are the ones that make us feel something. That’s the real magic of good branding.
At Gingerhead, we believe that a brand is so much more than just a logo – it’s a story, a vision, and a lasting impression. If you’re just looking for a quick fix or a simple logo, we’re not the agency for you. But if you’re ready to take your brand to the next level with strategic thinking, bold creative solutions, and an approach rooted in real results, let’s talk. We’re here to make your brand unforgettable.
