Sefton Council – Destination Christmas Campaign

We work as the Creative Marketing Agency for Sefton Council’s tourism team. As a UK-based seaside town, our client has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now more than ever, it is important to engage with domestic tourists. After successfully doing this during 2020 and the summer of 2021, our client decided to entice tourists to Southport over the Christmas period.

Our client was keen to do this, whilst ensuring that the people in their communities could visit safely.

We developed a marketing campaign including digital and out of home (OOH) advertising, social media (content marketing with animated and still graphics), email marketing and web content.

Impact

A targeted campaign that considered the different customer profiles across the borough and most effective tactics to reach them. The campaign outperformed industry standards across all digital metrics, including: 100,000 Reach, 17,553 actions, a 500% increase in Link Clicks, 2% Click Through Rate (above industry standard), with highest success in 34–44-year-old women, 45–54-year-old women and 25–34-year-old men.
